Ribbet:Photo collage

Hey everybody!!! This here is a photo collage I did on Ribbet!! I'm finding this photo editing thing to be quite fun!! With this collage all I needed to do was find some photos I like and then upload them to Ribbet and choose the format I wanted them to be in. Next I got to chose on whether or not I wanted to edit the photos or not, I chose to add the cute dark fading around the edges to give it a softer look. I then just saved it and then posted it on my blog so everyone else could see and maybe get an idea for what they can do.

Ribbet: Photo editing.

This is a random photo I found on my Monitor that I decided to edit on a site called Ribbet. Below is the edited version of it and I personally think its pretty cool but its all about personal preference I guess.
Here I will tell you what I did to get the above photo.
1. I logged onto Ribbet, it's free to sign up!
2. I went to the effects as I didn't feel my photo needed to be cropped or anything like that.
3. The effect I chose is from the true vintage. I chose this effect because of how majestic it looks, I love black and white photos.
4. I saved it so I could upload it onto my blog so people could test Ribbet out for themselves and see how they like it.

Computer Viruses.

1. Summarize the definition of the following types of computer viruses in one sentence:
a) Worm: A worm is a program that makes copies of itself so it can spread throughout your computer.
b) Trojan horse: A program that contains a hidden function which causes it to appear to perform a valid function while it causes damage to other programs.
c) Spyware: A spyware is a software that can be downloaded on a computer without the users knowledge and collect personal data on them and their internet use while connected to the internet.
d) Rogue Security Software: A program that tricks users to spend money on it by saying it gets rid of Malware but instead of getting rid of the Malware it introduces it to the computer.

2. How do computer viruses get onto your computer?
There are so many ways that computer viruses can get on your computer. Here are two:
     - Accepting without reading.
This is one of the most common ways a computer becomes infected by a virus. It happens when a user accepts what he or she sees on the screen without reading the prompt or understand what it's asking.
     - Opening E-mail attachments.
Another very common way people become infected with viruses and other spyware is by opening E-mail attachments, even when from a co-worker, friend, or family member. E-mail addresses can be faked and even when not faked your acquaintance may unsuspectingly be forwarding you an infected file.

3. How do you know you have a computer virus?
You can run a virus scan, or often times your computer will just randomly do one and tell you whether or not your computer is at risk. If you are having trouble getting online or you are seeing random pup-ups you might have a virus and it would be smart to check.

4. How do you avoid getting computer viruses?
Always make sure you use caution when browsing the internet, never open something that says it has a risk of virus. Also you can bye antivirus for your computer that will ensure you don't get one or they will let you know when you are doing something that poses a risk.

5.  What is an email virus and why is it dangerous?
Opening E-mail attachments.
Another very common way people become infected with viruses and other spyware is by opening E-mail attachments, even when from a co-worker, friend, or family member. E-mail addresses can be faked and even when not faked your acquaintance may unsuspectingly be forwarding you an infected file

6. Who creates computer viruses and why?
Some people do it because they are paid to see if their anti-virus software is good enough to keep these viruses away. Many people will do it for fun and/or because they like the challenge as well as to be funny. There are also people who will do it to find out personal information on other people.

7. Name three respectable anti-virus computer software programs that you could use to help protect you against computer viruses?
AVG has a free anti-virus that works really well.
Microsoft security essentials.
WEBROOT is also supposed to be really nice.

Difference between a CC email and a BCC email.

A CC email is also known as a Carbon Copy, meaning that the email stated after CC will receive a copy of the email. When you send a message to more than one address using the CC compartment, both the original recipient and all the recipients of the carbon copies see the To and CC compartments including all the addresses in them. BCC emails are different than the CC ones as in it does not show the recipients email address. These emails are called Blind Carbon Copies for that reason. The BCC email helps you deal with the problems created by CC. As it is the case with CC, a copy of the message goes to every single email address appearing in the BCC field. The only recipient address that will be visible to all recipients is the one in the To: Compartment. So, to make so you are anonymous you can put your own address in the To: compartment and use BCC exclusively to address your message.

Plagiarism

Video from youtube

                                                                   Photo from here!

I got the ideas for this video and photo from my brain, I just searched plagiarism and these showed up and my brain was all like, "Hey that looks easy lets use that!" The only information I have about plagiarism is to not do it in Ms. J.Adams' class because she will dock you some serious points. I guess you should refrain from doing it at all times because its very bad and you can get a fine for it and you also need to give your own brain a chance to come up with the stuff on its own...

Internet Safety is important!! Always get your parents permission before going into a chat room or talking to someone you don't know personally online. This video is a good example of showing that nobody is safe when they give out personal information. If you ever find yourself talking to an unknown person don't give your full name, address, or phone number!!!! It is really important to stay as safe as you can, you never know what type of person you are talking to.

Challenges of Microsoft Word 2010!!

In computers 11, we are learning how to run Microsoft Word 2010. There are going to be challenges such as, learning how to save documents, make new documents, run the tool bar, and type stuff. The hardest thing for me is probably going to be the typing as I am a really slow typer person but I hope to improve it a lot. Another thing we are learning to do is how to run Blogger, I'm not sure what the point is but I'm sure after a bit it will be better explained. This whole computer class thing that we are taking is kind of confusing as I've never done this stuff before so it's all new to me. I'm hoping when I am done I will be better acquainted with the ways of the computer and Microsoft Word because those are the requirements. I'm going to end this blog now, goodbye world!
